The Jogjakarta field trip 2011(SMP-SMA)

The 1st day, 3rd May 2011 around 7:15, everyone have already an excitement with their field trip which is our field trip were on “Jogjakarta” Still at the Central Java, not anywhere else, from the Grade seven until twelve which is not much students were in total 26 students were gather around while the teachers are discussing something.
This 26 students had a 5 supervisions which is our teacher name called Mr. Ryan, Mr. Tri, Ms. Nana, Ms. Ayik, and Ms. Lya. Around 7:30 the teacher asks us to go into the bus. The bus was small and especially the one who have the long leg had to suffer with those entire things that it must not be happening. I thought the bus was big at the first but in fact the bus was very small. Then we started to go to Jogjakarta around 7:40.

Along the way to Jogjakarta, few of the students were sleeping, listen to the music, and most of them were watching film which that, one of our male teachers called Mr. Ryan brings the DVD film. The traveling it takes three and a half hours to be at Jogjakarta, because we not using Magelang way, but instead by passing Klaten, that’s why it takes longer hours than the usual one.

Finally we arrive at Jogjakarta and we take a lunch in one of the restaurant near Candi Prambanan, the restaurant is quite big enough and it simple minimalist restaurant. In that restaurant we can choose and take the food we want it or that you like it, then we pay it after we choose and take the food and the drink we want. The food is nice and cheap. Then after we done eat all the food we like, we straightly went to the Candi Prambanan. In Candi Prambanan, the weather was SO TOTALLY HOT! Even one of our male teachers, Mr. Ryan cannot handle the warm and hot weather in Candi Prambanan. All the students were very enjoyed with the tour guide there even though the weather was extremely hot. After we Finish our with the Candi Prambanan tour. We straightly go to the hotel.

We arrive at the hotel around 15:30 and our hotel that we lived in called “Hotel Wisma Artha”. We went out of the bus and take our entire luggage and we went inside to the room according to the paper that sticks at the door room. The hotel is somehow minimalist and around four star hotels, even though is simple design but it refers to the traditional hotel and somehow like an old version but it had already good facilities. In one room, there are two “two story bed”, “double bed”, a small wardrobe, one bath room, TV and AC. The other facilities of this hotel are swimming pool, Ping-Pong court (not sure with this all), and small café or we can say “small restaurant”. Everyone were busy by themselves especially Mr. Tri and the grade 10 boys had a battle in the ping-pong game, some boys also do swimming, some of the girls were mostly at the room busy somehow like sleeping, chit-chat and something else, and while the SMP students with the two female teachers, Ms. Lya and Ms. Ayik, were at the small café chit-chat, eat at the restaurant. At around 17:30, we went to “Amplaz” that’s stands for “Ambarukmo Plaza”. We spend there for about 3 hours. Ambarukmo Plaza is the biggest mall at Jogjakarta as we can say (well may be because I’m not from Jogjakarta). At around 9 o’clock. We went back to the hotel and sleep, because we need to wake up early at 4:30 in morning for biking at Selokan Mataram.

The 2nd day, 4th May 2011, we woke up around 4:30, preparing and ready for biking while waiting for the others. Around 5:30, we went to the “start” where the bikers will ride the bike there and the one who can’t ride a bike will straightly went to the “Finish” place which is at “Candi Sambisari”. For us who don’t join the biking, we went to the temple and looking at the small temple, while waiting for the bikers to go to the finish line. The temple just only one temple and was a very small temple which had also a big field. Some of them were Jogging around the field, and few of them were taking pictures, chit-chat, and playing Nintendo DS. A minutes later, we went back to the bus, because nothing to do with the temple there. And a few later, the bikers had finally arrived at the finish line. The students were totally enjoyed the biking, even some of them complaint, well what can we do also, we can’t have too much hope too. Around 7:30 we went back to the hotel, and eat our breakfast at the aula. The breakfast is somehow nice too luckily. In our breakfast, we eat nasi kuning with egg and fried tempe with a brown sugar and also we drink the sweet tea. Then after we eat the nice yummy breakfast, some of the boys or girls were doing their own things. Playing ping-pong, swimming, and do something on their room.

Around 9:30, we went in to the bus and went to the silver industry, which is our destination now is in “Tom’s Silver”. Around 10 o’clock, we arrive and straightly went in to the industry. In that industry the tour guide tell us about the process of silver, how to make the silver ring, and some “wayang kulit” be made there. So is not only a silver industry but they also make “wayang kulit” because “wayang kulit” have some characteristic in crafting level too. In this silver industry, I think is challenging because if you get wrong of one of the sketch it will ruin everything, so they need to be more focus. After seeing at the process we when in to the done craft shop that they made. In there, you can see how the challenging level they do. Actually, it’s very awesome for me, even I want to buy it, but the problem was the price was so expensive, that’s why none of the students buy it.

At around 10:45, we went in to the bus again, and go to the next destination to the Batik Industry, which is called “Rara Djonggrang”. Around 12:15, we arrived there and straightly go in to the industry and looking how is the process of batik do, mostly they’re old people which already taken for a long time do that thing in the batik. In this industry, it is more use in handmade too, because handmade equals to expensive prices. While the stamp batik it mores to the cheap prices. At around 12:45,everyone were pay their own food and go back to the bus, then we straightly go to kids fun. In kidsfun, because of the price were totally expensive and the little bit cheap is at the night, so then we decided to went back to the hotel. Around 13:30, we go back to the hotel and take a rest for a while. In the hotel, some of them were doing normal activities like in the morning, I just sleep while in the hotel because somehow I’ll get sick if I force my body to work another. At 15:30, everyone went in to the bus and we went to Malioboro. In Malioboro, we can buy souvenirs, bags, necklace, etc. also we can eat a lot of food there and there’s a lot of street artists there. We spend at Malioboro around 3 hours only.

At 18:30 everyone was already at the bus, but because we need to wait our teacher who’s buying a lot of souvenirs for their friends, everyone must wait around 15 minutes and fortunately the bus found us along the road then we went inside the bus. In the bus, our male teacher, Mr. Tri tells good news to everyone in the bus that we got an invitation for dinner from John’s Mom. So, everyone in the bus say thank you to john. Then we straightly went to Melia Purosani Hotel. When we arrived at Melia Purosani hotel, everyone were started to go to the restaurant, take the food that had been served, and sit where it has been reserved by John’s mum. Everyone was enjoyed with the food that had been served in that hotel. The food that been served were totally all European food because beside us, someone reserved and it’s an American people so, the food are somehow European-Indonesia. After we finish eat that we like there, everyone was say thank you to John’s mum and we go back to the bus again and go back to our hotel.

In the hotel, some of the student wants to go to kids’ fun again and most of the grade 10 and 12 were going to the kids’ fun and they were straightly go to the bus and go there. Actually the entire teacher has an activity for the Grade 12 students, but because something bad happens so it cancelled the activity. A few hours later, the Grade 10 and 12 boys were back to the hotel because the kids’ fun had closed already. Then everyone gets in to their own room and sleep for the next day.

The 3rd day or The last day, 5th May 2011, a bad weather come as you know the rain come so hard, everyone were wake up and take their breakfast and sitting at the aula while drink a tea, some of the students prefer to directly went in to their own room to prepare for check out. At 9:30, everyone were take out their luggage to put it in the bus, and ready to the Keraton place. In the Kraton place, the tour guide tell about the King of Jogjakarta, what are they using if they’ll be married, the clothes that they will use everyday, what are the King’s favourite hobbies and there are a lot of things that its very interesting for me. After going to the Kraton place, the bus driver was taking us to the souvenir place to buy some the original “bakpia pathok”. In Bakpia pathok place, the teachers and some students buy some of the “bakpia pathok” and any else the buy. Then we go back to the bus and go back to Semarang. Meanwhile in the bus, the teachers give us a film that were given to the Grade 12 students, which is a Sweet, memorable, moments for them when they are still in PBIS. Everyone in the bus were very enjoyed with the video clip that our teachers make for the Grade 12. We arrive in Semarang at around 18:45.
